The first Berlin race: six themes, eighteen photographs, an exhibition at the Wale Cafe, and Philipp Wolfart at the top of a podium he would return to.
The first Berlin edition of the Urban Photo Race ended the way the race always ends: with the photographs on a wall. The exhibition at the Wale Cafe brought the participants back together a few weeks after race day, and the results were read out there.
Six themes were revealed during the day: Personal Ritual, Behind, Sounds of the city, Balance, Wrinkles and Experience. Three photographs per theme, eighteen in total, and the jury scored the body of work as well as each series.
The team thanked everyone who took part and everyone who helped, on the day of the race and on the day of the exhibition. A group effort, in their words, in which everyone did their part.
