Second edition of the Urban Photo Race Paris!
You’ve done it. Congratulations!
118 people at the start! with participants from France, the Netherlands and Germany, as well as some expat Parisians, newcomers and many regulars.
The 8 hour race got under way at 11 a.m. sharp, in front of the Mairie du 14e, with a lovely ray of sunshine and a doubly festive atmosphere, with newly-weds coming out of the village hall.
Then a short South-North crossing, with the first two themes in the bag - Unexpected and So Parisian! - heading for the furthest checkpoint, to Jardin Villemin, near the Canal St Martin in the 10e.
From there, with the 3rd theme unveiled - Délice - a little loop via the Opéra and the Grands Boulevards to get to the 3rd checkpoint, the slightly hidden Place Édouard VII.
With the demonstration around République - so ‘Parisian’ after all - a few minor transport problems for some... but all’s well that ends well, and the participants concerned managed this double challenge.
And already, after many kilometres covered, it was time for the final theme - Duo - and the 4th and final checkpoint. To buckle the buckle: a new place dedicated to photography, Quai de la photo, a barge in the 13th arrondissement.
The weather, although more autumnal, played the game (as well as you did!), with sunny spells, clouds in the distance, and only a few drops of rain.
After so many kilometres on the clock, hundreds and hundreds of photos taken and the suspense of the game, it was nice to finish the race with a drink on the terrace of the Péniche, to review the day! Again, this race was the occasion to meet new people, old acquaintances, to exchange, to laugh together and of course to take loads of photos during this cross-country hunt through Paris: a big thank you for taking up the challenge and taking part. Well done!
We now can’t wait to discover your photos - the names and photos of the lucky winners will be announced shortly! See you soon.
