The first Utrecht race, postponed by Corona and held in September, in a full and a small version, with themes about Utrecht and the news of the day.
The first Urban Photo Race in Utrecht ran on Saturday 19 September 2020, after Corona had moved it from the spring. Two days before, a press conference announced new measures, but they only started on the Sunday, so the race could go ahead: the team had spent the summer making it safe for everyone, and it was, with fantastic weather and motivated racers.
There were two races, the full race of twelve hours and six themes and the small race of six hours and three themes, each with its own winners. The themes mixed Utrecht and the news of the day: Start the day with a smile, Always ahead! (the club song of FC Utrecht), Utrecht connects, Keep your distance, Miffy is naughty! and Cityscapes.
Some themes asked more of the racers than others, and the team was surprised by the creativity in the series. The partners stayed with the race in a year when nobody knew whether it could happen at all.
