UPR ROTTERDAM

08.JUN.2019

After last year's very successful edition we're coming back for more. Rotterdam is a big city and we haven't even scratch the surface of what we can do here.

Even thou this will be the only event in the Netherlands this year, we’ve packed it in full. From 3 UPR race formats (S, M, L), to a race day Olympus Touch & Try competition, not to mention all the pre-race events. We’ve designed it so that there is more to an UPR than just race day, so be sure to check all our upcoming events and join the community.

UPR EVENT

This is the first UPR event to feature the new race formats (S,M,L). We’ve designed it so that everyone can have a race to fit their size. Wanna go full marathon? Then join us on the first ever 24h UPR.

You can learn more about our race formats here. In summary we’ll host 3 UPR formats:

  • S - (6 Hours / 3 Themes) - Best suited for those who have other plans later but still want to get some shots done.

  • M - (12 Hours / 6 Themes) - This is the same as the previous classic race format, from 10:00 to 22:00.

  • L - (24 Hours / 10 Themes) - This one is why we call our event a photo marathon. For the ultra photographer / night walker.

A participant ticket (entry to any of the race formats above) is 40€ online and 45€ on the day of the race.

DISCLAIMER - If there are not enough participants for any of the race formats we will cancel that race format. We will notify everyone if this happens in the week leading up to the event.

OLYMPUS TOUCH & TRY COMPETITION

In order to make things even more interesting, we’ve partnered with our new sponsor Olympus, and attached a Touch & Try session to the main race event.

This event is available to as many participants as available cameras, and these will be hand-out on a first come first served basis.

Olympus will host a presentation of their gear on race day before the race starts where you’ll be able to know more about the technical aspects of the cameras, which then you will use during race day.

To make things even more interesting, Olympus will host a separate jury vote (by Fokko Muller) and award the best photographers of each UPR race format (participants of the T&T) with the same camera models they were using during race day.

Olympus T&T competition rules

  1. There will be two T&T events on race day. One for the participants of S and another for the participants of M and L simultaneously.

  2. The events will be hosted at the end of race format S and M and will last 1 hour each.

  3. These events are optional and free to participate.

  4. You will be given an Olympus E-M10 MIII with a 14-42mm lens.

  5. Cameras will be handed out in exchange for an ID for safety purposes, and on a first come first served basis.

  6. Participants have 1 hour to shoot 3 photos about 1 theme.

  7. Photos need to be delivered within that time frame as well.
